Workation in Korat: a practical guide to working from nature in Sikhio
Which room to work from, how the internet holds up, what to eat and what to do at weekends on a long stay in the mountains.

A workation only works if the work part works. A mountain view won't save you when the connection drops in the middle of a call. This is our practical guide to a workation in Korat, for anyone thinking of moving their desk to a hill in Sikhio for a week or longer. It is based on what long-stay guests ask us most: the rooms, the internet, food and weekends.
Why a workation in Sikhio, Korat
- Close to Bangkok: about 2.5 hours by car, so you don't lose a working day to travel.
- Same time zone as Bangkok. Your team calls stay where they are; only the pace of life changes.
- Nature next door. The 2 km Khao Chan Ngam nature trail starts at the edge of the resort, so a break from the screen doesn't need a car.
- Everything in one place. Restaurant, Sky Pool, fitness room and yoga room are all on site. You can stay without a car.
Your room is your office
There is no shared co-working space at the resort, so your room is your office. Every room has a work desk, free Wi-Fi, air conditioning and a private balcony to rest your eyes.
Choosing a room for a long stay:
| Room | Best for |
|---|---|
| Deluxe, 45 sqm | Our pick for workations: more space, and an extra bed is possible |
| Suite, 75 sqm | A separate living room, so work and rest stay apart |
| Honey Moon Suite, 100 sqm | Two floors, for anyone who wants the most space |
See prices and details for every room on the rooms page. Rooms start from ฿1,900 a night. Rates include breakfast for 2, VAT and service charge.
Internet and video calls
We don't just write "free Wi-Fi". We test the speed zone by zone and publish the results with the test date in the Wi-Fi table, including mobile signal. Each time we retest, the table is updated.
- Video calls from your room are fine.
- Keep mobile data as a backup, as you would anywhere.
- If you have an important call, test your sound and video on the day you arrive.
A working day at ChanNgarm
